János Süli, minister without portfolio responsible for the design, construction and installation of the two new nuclear power plant units of Paks and Valeriy Limarenko, president of the main contractor ASE EC company responsible for the expansion of the Paks NPP attended the event.  

János Süli highlighted that it’s a strategic goal to have a cheap in the long run, secure electricity which is constantly available for the domestic population and economy, its guarantees are the two new Paks nuclear power plant units. He added: the key to Hungary’s competitiveness is not the cheap labour, but the low cost of production, the cheap and reliable electricity supply is necessary to that. The minister without portfolio underlined: the Paks II. project company handed over the license application to the competent authority, the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority for the first construction and erection base building, the main contractor’s office building, in the meantime the preparation of the construction and erection base can begin.

Valeriy Limarenko, president of the main contractor ASE EC reminded, according to the intergovernmental agreement, the Parties do everything in their power to reach 40% share of minimum localized level, so in the early phase of the works they are counting on the participation of the Hungarian entreprises. Right now the selection of the first construction companies is taking place. Once every conditions are met, the actual physical work can start on the site.
