The winter weather caused another historical record on 23 January 2019, MAVIR registered a 6926 MW peak system load, which is 42 MW higher than the previous certified quarter hourly record. According to MAVIR’s statement, the Hungarian electricity system provides a secure supply even during winter weather without any problem.

The previous electricity consumption record was broken in January 2019 before, the previous maximum was 6884 MW on 8 January 2019.
