Parallel work is progressing at the sites of both units

The concreting of the nuclear island of Unit 5 is underway, while a quarter of the soil volume from the excavation pit of Unit 6 has already been removed.



Meanwhile, in the area of Unit 6 soil cutters, crawler excavators, dozers and trucks are working on the construction of the 150-meter-wide, 190-meter-long, 23-meter-deep excavation pit, with more than a quarter of the approximately half a million cubic meters of soil already removed.

The works are being monitored by the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority as part of an on-site inspection.
