The leaders of the settlements in the immediate vicinity of the investment were informed about the progress of the nuclear power plant construction.

The mayors of sixteen settlements belonging to the Social Control, Information and Settlement Development Association (TEIT) visited the Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant site on 12 November. In this year's elections, new leaders were elected in five settlements, thus the presidency of the association was also renewed. The construction site was exciting not only for the newly installed settlement leaders, as significant progress was made in 2024, and the site preparation work was still in full swing at the time of the visit. The mayors were informed about the details of this by Péter Rákóczi, Communications Director, Gábor László Kiss, Program Director, and Éva Haag, CEO Advisor. The meeting also discussed the accommodation of workers arriving later and related services. Péter Rákóczi said that a five-thousand-bed accommodation facility is being built directly next to the construction site.

– The aim is to place the physical staff in a concentrated and controlled manner, and the construction workers can even reach their workplaces on foot – he said. He stressed that maintaining contact with TEIT is important, because building the nuclear power plant can only be done in agreement with the people living in the area.

The progress is significant, summed up his experiences by dr. Zoltán Bagó, President and Mayor of Kalocsa. – The speed and quality of the progress is impressive. I follow the news, I try to stay up to date, but despite this, we have received new information, we see the project in a more complex way. We are happy that the work is being carried out in a regulated and orderly manner – said the President of TEIT.

The mayors of Paks and Kalocsa, as well as fourteen other surrounding settlements, were guided around the construction site by László Gábor Kiss.  The program director of Paks II. Ltd. explained the technical details and schedule of the site preparation and other works.
