Gergely Jákli: we know nothing is impossible

The Chairman and CEO of Paks II. Ltd. evaluated the past period in the studio of TelePaks Regional Television.

Currently, there are no sanctions in the world that would slow down or hinder the progress of the work – Gergely Jákli stated in the studio of TelePaks Television. The Chairman and CEO of Paks II. Ltd. spoke in the program “Közélet közelről” that both the European Union and the United States administrations accepted that the Paks project is a nuclear power plant investment implemented in the territory of the Union in an international collaboration, with a Russian main contractor, which is no different from French or British projects. – The lifting of sanctions is also an important signal to our suppliers – the company manager emphasized.

Regarding the increasing number of visits by members of Hungarian Parliament in recent times, the Chairman and CEO stated: the company has nothing to hide, the employees of Paks II. Ltd. are giving the best of their knowledge to ensure that the project progresses from milestone to milestone. – Seeing this commitment and expertise, the members of parliament can rest assured that the project is in expert hands – said Gergely Jákli. He added: in recent years, the employees of Paks II. have proven that they are capable of solving tasks that seem impossible to an outside observer.


 

Gergely Jákli also reported that the company has achieved several significant results in the past six months: the authority has issued the permit for the concrete plant to be put into operation, the construction permit for the facilities of the Construction and Erection Base is fully available – this means 124 permits – after the completion of the forging of the reactor vessel of Unit 5 the welding processes have begun and the forging of the reactor vessel of Unit 6 has also started. In addition the production of steam turbines has begun and the permit for the production of the reactor vessel internals, i.e. the internal equipment, has been obtained – thus, the equipment of Paks II. is currently being manufactured in six cities in three countries.

The supply of specialists is also a key topic in the international arena – stated the company’s head in connection with the correspondence electrical engineering training program in Paks starting in the autumn, he added that they are looking for sister school connections and the opportunity to join international programs. – If we can be half a step ahead of the world, then we can show that Paks is a good example in organizing labour supply – he said.
