Dr. Attila Aszódi government commissioner informed the local and regional press representatives, the secondary school students of Dunaföldvár, and the residents of Paks, Szekszárd and surrounding settlements about the project’s actualities on 28 and 30 November.
In the morning of 28 November Dr. Attila Aszódi showed the new information surfaces about the Paks II. project in the Paks NPP’s Visitors Centre and informed the press representatives about the investments’s most recents events. The government commissioner said, the project company received the first degree environmental license, the appellate proceeding is currently ongoing. Regarding the site licensing which started at the end of October, he informed there’ll be three public forums the following week in three cities (Paks, Szekszárd, Kalocsa), where the interested could learn about the preparation of the establishment of the new nuclear power plant units. Following this will be a public hearing on 13 December organized by the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority at 16 o’clock in Paks, in the Csengey Dénes Cultural Centre.
Following the press conference the government commissioner held an irregular physics class for about 100 students in the Magyar László secondary school in Dunaföldvár, where he presented the process and results of the site investigation with spectacular figures, photos and videos.The first station of the public forum series was Paks, in the lecture hall of ESZI at 17 o’clock. After the thoughts of communications director István Mittler and mayor of Paks János Süli, Dr. Attila Aszódi informed the audience about the process and results of the site investigation and evaluation, and the steps and role of the site licensing. Following the detailed lecture, the government commissioner answered the questions.
The forum series continued on 30 November in Szekszárd. Following the speeches of communications director István Mittler and mayor Rezső Ács, like two days before, after Dr. Attila Aszódi government commissioner’s lecture, the audience’s questions were answered. More than 100 interested participated in the event.
The forum series will end on 5 December 2016 in Kalocsa. The official public hearing organized by the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority will take place on 13 December at 16 o’clock in Paks, in the Csengey Dénes Culture Centre.
