After visiting the concrete batching facility serving the project and the levelling concrete work in the excavation pit of Unit 5, the Deputy Minister emphasized in his statement that all political, legal, licensing, financial and technical obstacles that had long hindered the progress of the project amid the geopolitical confrontation and sanctions that have defined recent years have now been removed.

– In Hungary, it is possible to produce energy in large quantities, safely, in a climate-neutral manner, and cheaply with a nuclear power plant – emphasized the Deputy Minister.

Levente Magyar also reported that preparatory work for the first concrete pouring of Unit 5 was currently underway in Paks, as part of which the so-called levelling concrete was being carried out in order to provide a solid, clean and smooth surface for the further phases of construction.

As we have already reported, the concreting works were being carried out by the TITAN-2 company with the involvement of the Hungarian-owned Bayer Construct Ltd.
